Stimulus direct deposit deadline has passed. What that means for your IRS check now

The IRS says you can no longer use it's Get My Payment portal to enter your banking information and get your stimulus check by direct deposit. The IRS will now step up sending checks through the mail.

The IRS said it has officially ended the ability to set up a new direct deposit account with its Get My Payment tool as of Wednesday, May 13 at 9 a.m. PT (12 p.m. ET). If you submitted your banking info for your 2020 economic impact payment to the IRS before the deadline, it's expected you should still receive your stimulus payment through direct deposit.
